You may have seen in the media lately talk of a dyslexic writer hitting the headlines with a publishing deal. Well, this is it, and not only is the author a flag flyer for Dyslexia, he is also a very good writer! IF you like GoT, you will love this!

'"No!" Havovatch shouted. But he could do nothing with two more fighting before him.

Out of nowhere, Feera jumped down from above with his two swords in a cross, cutting the creature's head clean off.'

Like that taster? The book has some pretty awesome fight scenes, and the description is spot on. I find it hard to get into fantasy novels at times, but this one kept me reading.

According to the reviews, I read book 2 is even better, but with the ending for book 1, I can't imagine where it will take the reader next!

This a really solid fantasy debut, that kept me well entertained all the way through!

The book has a steep development of writing style - so while the start is a bit shaky, it gets better and better the farther in you get. Started of as a two star for me - ended up as a good 4 stars for me, so I went with the 3* for the whole thing. I hope the next one progresses on from the end of book one!

I clicked with the main character right away. Havovatch is a really good guy, who gets thrown into an adventure bigger than he might have ever imagined. A new soldier one day, he finds himself on a mission to save the world just shortly after!

The plot was interesting, the characters could get a bit more depth (book two??), but I'd go to a tavern with them anyday! The pacing was good, and kept me inside the story all the time. There was enough magic and creatures in the book to make it feel like proper fantasy, but not so much as to feel like you need a dictionary or slush your way through infodumps.

I can recommend this story, and if the second one is even a touch better, then it might become a four or five star review! I surely will follow this authors work.
