It wasn't the best reading ever, but had a cool ending and I'd like to know what happens next in this world.
No fue la mejor de las lecturas, pero tuvo un buen final y me gustaría saber qué sucede en este mundo.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this one. I think I mostly remembered
SpoilerAsh and Mary-Lynette not getting together at the end
and being disappointed in that so I completely wrote off the good stuff in this.

The opening was a good way to start, I liked that even while the girls were being threatened they were calm and speaking to each other (through telepathy) and did what they needed to do.

The Jade/Mark romance was cute, as was the Ash/Mary-Lynette romance. I liked Ash/Mary better though. What I didn't like was the part where
SpoilerMary, after kissing Ash, said she wanted to be a vampire. There was nothing that I read that made me think she'd want to be a vampire, there wasn't a reason given at all, from what I remember anyway. I just remember being extremely shocked when she suddenly said she wanted to be a vampire, it came out of left field.

I liked the mystery of who killed Aunt Opal and who was killing the animals. I completely forgot who it was and still surprised at the end.

Mehhh, this is one of those books that is really difficult to review because I liked the idea but I did not enjoy the writing. The characters are interesting but I dont feel like his growth as a character was portrayed very well. I felt the same way about Mark, his sister comments how much he had changed by the end of the book but I felt like we didn't really get to know him well enough to see a change. I noticed several parts of this story where the author chose to tell us the character had changed or having the characters note something instead of showing the reader these things, I understand they had limited pages to work with but I feel like others have managed it. The sisters are fun but I feel like they need some kind of guardian or something, they are strong, fierce young women but they are also nieve and sheltered. ||Also perhaps I misunderstood but in the first book of this series they had to do the last blood exchange or poppy would have become a zombie, was that just because she was dying anyway? If not it seems like a bit of a continuity error in this book||. I will continue the series as I still have hope and the actual story itself is good, just hope the writing improves.

It's hard to explain. If I take a step back and look at what the different elements of the book are, I should like it, but I don't. The only reason I finished reading it was because I have it as an audiobook.

I read this series as a kid and am having such a great time re-reading them!! This book still kills me. I thought the mystery was great and I couldn't remember who was the one killing animals and everything, so the twist at the end was super surprising. The ending is all kinds of heartbreaking. I loved that L.J. took that quote from Secret Vampire (the someday you'll care for someone and it'll hurt quote) and wrote a whole novel kind of based on that. And the ending definitely hurt

"Mary-Lynnette, seventeen, loves to watch the stars from her Oregon backyard. Then one day, she thinks she’s witnessed a murder through her telescope. She’s wrong: it’s only three vampire sisters burying their mysteriously-killed aunt. The sisters, Rowan, Kestral, and Jade ran away from their enclave home to live the lives of regular teenagers. However, when their brother Ash is sent to bring the girls back, he falls in love with Mary-Lynnette. But will she accept him because of his lurid vampire past and can a now-repentant Ash convince Mary-Lynnette to let him atone for his former sins and be his soulmate?" (From Amazon)

A great paranormal romance series. For fans of Twilight and Christopher Pike.
