Such a fun, easy read. I didn't expect to be interested in wedding planning or the harp, or woodworking, but surprisingly the vibes are immaculate. A good book to escape reality with.

This was super cute! I don’t have much else to say about it really; I enjoyed it, but it didn’t change my life or anything! 

I really appreciated the Jewish #OwnVoices perspective and loved reading a story about a Jewish family that was full of joy and love and fun. I’m not Muslim so I can’t comment on the accuracy of Tarek’s representation— I know some folks have issues with the frequent depiction of Muslims who don’t follow the laws & customs of the religion and that others appreciate characters that reflect their experience with adherence in varying & complicated degrees.

What I can comment on is that I loved seeing a love interest with a chronic skin condition like eczema! As a life-long psoriasis-haver, it’s not often that I see other folks with shitty painful itchy irritated skin represented and have it be a part of them, not vilified or romanticized. So like, more of that please! 

I’m not going to be shouting about this book from the rooftops, but it was a good time! Would recommend if you’re looking for something heartfelt, thoughtful, romantic, and sweet! 

So fun, sweet, and romantic! Also about embracing who you are, with all your so-called faults, and knowing you are still loved and can be loved!

This made my heart sing in a way that only the most charming and well-written YA contemporary novels can! Rachel Lynn Solomon has a knack for characterization and has certainly secured a spot on my auto-read list. Here, I wanted just a touch less on the relationship between Quinn and Tarek and a bit *more* on Quinn's relationships in general -- i.e. those with her parents, her best friend, her harpist mentor (!), etc. -- because I think they form (and drive) the self-growth at the heart of the novel. Truly, though, a joy to read.
