Super sweet, darling couple. A bit rough and they get comfortable way faster than I’d expect. For someone who doesn’t people, Carter is very touchy right out the gate and Summer goes from warmly professional to college dorm roomies comfort faster than any NYC resident I’ve ever met. It’s more disconcerting than the insta-connection, which actually moved slower than I expected. If I suspended my disbelief and just started giving it my own timeline, everything felt better. The humor I was expecting picks up in the second half, so I’m feeling hopeful about the next book and unreasonably attached to resolving the Joey and Jax mystery.
Minor: Cancer, Child death, Panic attacks/disorders, and War

The second half was better than the first half. I’m happy I stuck with it.
