Even if you don't read comics, read these 12 issues if you have the chance. The story is amazing as it remains detached from the larger scope of the Marvel universe, but is so engrossing.

Tom King’s Vision: Part 1
Reading part one of two of Vision’s attempt at living a normal life was as good yet even crazier than I expected. A robot who built a wife, daughter and son based off of himself. They are terrifying. The power to destroy in an instant. Yet so human. Maybe more so than you and I. They analyze our works, our arts, our idioms and our humanness. What does it mean to be human? Can a thing become human? If it did internally, could the rest of the world accept it?
This offbeat story of Vision living a life in the suburbs is somehow insanely real and down to earth (while being full of excitement and twists). Can’t wait to finish.
P.S. King’s robot speech is well worth the price of admission by itself.

This is a dark and creepy look at the private life of a synthetic man and his synthetic family in the suburbs of Washington, DC. The story reminds us that with great power comes great responsibility. The Vision himself seems to understand this, but his wife and children do not. This creates some very powerful dilemmas for the family as they face the prejudices of their neighbors, the wrath of super-villains, and what it means to be an "other" in today's society. The Vision family is clearly emotionally stunted, which makes their lives even harder. I found it comically ironic that The Vision may have saved Earth 37 times, but this gives him no special dispensation from society when his family screws up.
The artwork is good, if nothing spectacular. The biggest flaw is that like many serialized comic books, the story does not conclude in this volume. I look forward to finishing the story, but I anticipate it's going to get even darker before the end.

Ok, I really dug this and I knew very little about Vision going into this.

This book wound up being *much* darker than I had expected. The art was good and the narrative raises interesting questions about artificial intelligence and synthetic life, as well as age-old problems of prejudice, assimilation, and humanity fearing that which it doesn't understand. But in the end, this comic just wasn't for me.
