After reading ‘The Never King’, I thought I’d check this world out as well and I’m glad I did. It’s intriguing, humans living in what seems like a small town, alongside supernaturals. A really fun vibe off the bat, with the ‘hot vamp next door’ all dangerous and broody.

It went by really quickly and kept my attention, so I’m definitely in for at least 1 more in this series.

4 stars.

The narration was great—5 stars there.

This was such a fun world and I really liked the two main characters and how they interacted with each other. Definitely didn't realise this would leave me hanging (despite the fact that it literally says season one on the cover...) but I am eager to read more (as soon as I can log it on Goodreads).

I only picked this up because I needed a break from my current read.

It was short, well-written, and easy to read. It wasn’t as steamy as I expected, which was a huge shock. There was a plot and a cliffhanger, and I’m almost tempted to continue on with the series. However, the main character drove me nuts and I hated the love interest’s use of pet names.

This story won’t be one that sticks with me, but I’m not opposed to checking out this author’s other work!

The story is not bad for the size of the book. However Latin is a dead language a long time ago so no they wouldn’t be speaking latin, specially bc he was only from the 1700s.

I love love LOVE this story- Bran Duvall that’s all I’ll say. Ive bee reading on kindle Vella for the last two months and ANXIOUSLY await updates each week. Nikki has quickly become one of my favorite PNR authors and she has done an incredible job writing broody and mysterious bran and Jessie’s story. I’m so invested in them as a couple it also in the world and what the hell is going on with Jessie. I can’t wait to keep reading and uncover all the secrets this story has to offer!!

Rereading this because I wanted something quick after my chestnut springs series binge and I wanted to reread before I started the new one that’s just come out!

Wow. I am obsessed!!
I picked this up for a quick read and who doesn’t love vampires?? I was a huge Twilight fan when I was younger and I re watch Vampire Dairies at least twice a year..

This world building was so fun, yes it was quick and kinda had some aspects that felt like Wattpad but I actually loved it!! There was a bit of insta love, but it’s less than 200 pages so what do we expect??
I absolutely love Bran and he’s just the definition of a broody vampire! Jessie is so funny and I really like her character!!
The plot!!!! Wow, I couldn’t stop trying to figure out what was gonna happen next! Cannot wait to carry on this series because I have so many questions!!
Side note… vampire smut?? Yes please
