An okay mystery novel with an important base plot about the injustices in the US legal system. You can tell the author is male based on how he describes women as if they were objects, which really took me out of it at times.
Moderate: Eating disorder and Violence
Minor: Racism
There’s several odd, and unnecessary points in the story where the main character brings up his pension for not eating and describes himself as so thin that his mother and coworkers worry about him. The main character thinks this is a good thing because the less you eat is indirectly correlated with your life expectancy in his eyes. This was a very weird and somewhat irresponsible thing to publish in my opinion, and may be triggering for someone with an ED.
