This book follows James Pattersons tried and true recipe of small chapters that you can't help but find yourself saying '"I'll just read one more chapter ..."

I really enjoy reading the Women's Murder Club series however for some reason I felt that this book didn't dive into the sub-plots enough, with their endings fizzling out rather than ending with a bang like previous books.

It would have been great to have had a bit more depth in each of the sub-plots - for example, Joe's case with the hospital hackers seemed to plod along in the background for most of the book, without much detail and then seemed to be wrapped up a bit too neat (and slightly far-fetched) for me. Yuki's trial case felt a bit rushed in between the other plots, which was a real shame as this sub-plot started off strong and drew you into the book, and Lindsey's case was very similar, a lot of build up, but the finale lacked that shock/surprise factor that I usually love in the Women's Murder Club series.

This was fast paced as usual! I was happy to be back with the women’s murder club. The ending felt rushed and I wasn’t as shocked with the outcome as I’d have liked but overall still an enjoyable read.

"The 24th Hour" by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro was a thrilling 4-star read! This book is the latest installment in the Women's Murder Club series, comprising three separate stories intricately woven together. The main storyline follows the investigation into the murders of an elite husband and wife, compelling Sergeant Lindsay Boxer to solve the case before the murderer strikes again. Meanwhile, during a lunch break, the Women’s Murder Club's meal is interrupted by a scream, leading to a subplot involving a rape victim with a mental disorder who seeks justice with the help of Assistant DA Yuki Castellano. Additionally, outside the murder club, Lindsey’s husband, Joe Molinari, endeavors to halt a cybercrime before innocent lives are lost.

True to James Patterson's style, the chapters were short, making for a quick read. The main storyline was engaging and felt consistent with the tone of the series. Yuki's subplot was also compelling, though it seemed slightly rushed to conclude the trial. However, the storyline involving Joe and the cybercrime lacked interest for me. It lacked a smooth flow and abruptly ended. Nevertheless, overall, the book was enjoyable, and I would recommend it to fans of the Women’s Murder Club series.

Thanks to Little, Brown and Company, James Patterson and Maxine Paetro, and NetGalley for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review.

Lindsey Boxer and the Women's Murder Club is back in the latest in this fun series. As always it is a quick read that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I didn't want to put it down, but sometimes life gets in the way. This is one of my favorite series!!!

I want to thank Netgalley & Little, Brown and Company for an ARC of this novel
