I‘m sorry, the descriptions of nature were beautiful, but I just didn‘t care about the story…

I enjoyed this book, but warn any faint-hearted-animal-lover that there are no pulled punches in the narrative about the savagery inherent in the wild. I took away one star because I felt that the entire beginning of the book with the sled dog team was completely unnecessary to the book. This is a wonderful negative image of London's other book, "The Call of the Wild." London is an excellent writer, in my opinion, and his words flow so well that it makes it near to impossible to wander away in daydream. I would recommend this book to teens and older readers.

Reading this book reminded me of the very first book I ever loved.
White Fang is the tale of a wolf who faces injustice and brutality at the hands of men in the wilderness of gold rush North America.
If you ever loved Black Beauty, I dare say you’ll enjoy this too.
