I am rating based on the contents of the book and not the show. I liked the weirdness of it and found it a fun read. I do think it did not translate well to a book. We are missing the nuances of Cecil’s voice as that is what makes the show exciting. But for a book that is just about the script, it is a good book. The forewords are a nice inclusion as it tells about the creation of the show and the authors’ or actors’ highlights. If you are a fan of the show I would say this is a nice collectible, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend reading it. If you are interested in night vale but are not yet a listener, I recommend you don’t read this book and listen to the show instead. The show is so mich more immersive.

Brings back some of the joy and newness I felt while listening to WTNV way back in high school. The new medium and commentary add something as well, for me. I wish there was more "bonus" material, but thats about my only gripe. Also would have loved an appendix with song lyrics/track notes for the weather

A good way to support the podcast! Bonus points for the cast comments and the first live show script
