This is a classic I never thought I’d have the motivation to pick up. And boy am I glad I did. The way I was instantly drawn in to the world and the writing style. One of my new favorite books. The very very ending left me a little hollow and wishing for more. But when 99% of it had me enamored I can overlook it. A fantastic novel I will definitely be reading again.

officially one of my favorite classics - it’s got revenge, poisonings, backstabbing, thieves, affairs, and obscure 19th century geopolitics. even the shortened version is long but it was still an exciting read given all the action and dantes’ elaborate revenge plot

This book was better than I expected. I was hooked and hanging on each page. I found it hard to keep up with who-was-who due to names changing and characters coming and going. I highly recommend this book... but draw a character tree to help you follow the characters.

Though some may be dissuaded by the number of pages of this book, it is definitely a great book that I think anyone would enjoys. This book has plot twists, action, and romance. Pretty much everyone's kind of book :D
