This book is the first book from this author that I have read. I will probably try another one of her books. Definitely has the chick appeal to it. I don't usually read this sort of thing. For me, I could relate to losing oneself in the everyday stuff. I can't imagine going a way to Mexico with girlfriends, or anywhere for that matter. It made me think, what would I do if it were just me. And who exactly is me. I was excited when Meg found a new apartment, and admired Meg finding a new career. Again, it made me think...What would I do? It was a nice lite read, but also made me think about me some. So, overall a good combination.

Loved this book. It was another of Kris Raddish's great books about self-discovery and how important friendships are. I believe this is my favorite of her books.

Definitely a must-read. Wonderful example of a woman deciding to find what makes her happy and pursue it, regardless of others' expectations.

Reading this again to see if it will help a friend get over her dead beat husband ...

Disappointing novel about middle aged woman who walks in on her cheating husband and then proceeds to change her life. Nothing new and compelling. Throw in a beloved aunt with secrets in Mexico.

I loved this book. Loved. It moved me, touched something raw and true in my core.

I know these women. These women are my friends. I am these women.

I read some of the critical reviews and I totally get what some of them are saying. Yes, Meg (the protagonist) has A LOT of privilege (white, educated, healthy, financially stable, able bodied, etc.) and her problems, in the grand scheme, are not really that big. Yes, much of the plot is formulaic and there aren't really any big surprises. Yes,
Spoiler everything is tied up neatly at the end. And yes, the final chapter is very rushed and fluff.
(the spoilers are very generic, but I thought I'd include them anyway)

And yet... the writing is so lovely and, like I said, it moved me. And that ultimately wins over any flaws the book may have had. I didn't even really mind the contrived final chapter with the
Spoiler run down of what happened with each character. I was pleased to know what happened with them.

I absolutely loved this book! It may be a work of fiction, but it had some powerful messages for women. I loved the journeys that the heroine and her friends took. Very inspirational
