Set in Medieval India, this story talks about an island nation Jazeera under tyrannical rule. Most of North India is under the Sultanate and its plans to conquer the South has been thwarted by the combined forces of the Sujayanagar Empire. That is when mystery starts brewing in Jazeera: children start disappearing and an officer is brought in to look into the matter. Elsewhere, in the great forest on the mainland, people are preparing for war.

The plotline looks very simple superficially, yet it had a lot of twists and turns. A lot of plot points were included, but the simple and straightforward narration and the author's style of connecting the various parts made it easy and less taxing to read. The battles and war scenes were very well constructed and reminded me of Amish's work. The author tries his best to bring in deep character development in the short length of the book, while giving sufficient space to weave the story. And giving a very satisfying finish looking towards a bright future.

But I couldn't help wanting more. The plot was very engrossing and a few more pages with more plot and character development would only have made it more so. I felt that many interesting characters didn't get the space that they deserved.
