(To encompass all 16 chapters)

Takopi's Original Sin is an intense, unapologetically sour book about trauma, the cycles of trauma, and the difficulties in escaping them. It's unflinching in the emotions and scenarios it depicts as it gives its fair share of development and empathy to its main cast.
While at times it can be a bit heavy-handed, it's also the point, writer Taizan 5 uses the tropes and expectations of shonen manga to lock their characters into this cycle of misery with only one lone space star in the middle trying to make everyone happy.
In it's own way, the story explores what it means to be happy and how in a world where those meant to protect you have already left you for dead.
It's also an excellent example of true pandemic-influenced media.

Cannot wait to see where Taizan 5 goes after this!

CW: bullying, abuse, suicide, murder, animal abuse

This is what I imagine A Little Life would be like in manga form, Jesus fucking Christ. The premise and general plot make it different enough to where it isn’t a standard torture porn (don’t worry, still is one)so I’ll read the second volume to see how it ends.

This book tries to tackle how difficult human happiness is and how there isn't always a villain in every story. Or maybe another way to put it could be, many people who are villains in one story are victims of the next.

I like that Takopii time traveling doesn't really solve anything in itself. Isn't that the truth, somehow? We always think things would be okay, if we just said something a little different or did something a little different... But it's not as simple as that is it? Sometimes there is no right answer. Sometimes there's nothing you can do to avoid pain and hardship.

It's a short story, and it's not bad, I'd recommend it if you need something sad to eat up in an afternoon.
