ARC from edelweiss

Oh wow - I really could't put this one down. I actually just read almost the whole book in just one day. It is very different than Peak and I think The Edge is a great title. So much action and unexpected things I don't even know where to start. Just read this one as soon as you can! I think it would be great even if you haven't read the first one. #stillintears

I really enjoyed revisiting the characters, especially Peak and Zopa.

This was still a really awesome book, but the reason that it got a star taken off is because I felt like it got a bit dramatic, especially compared to this first one which was just about climbing Everest. It was still an interesting story and I read the whole thing in a couple of hours, but some of what happened seemed a bit unrealistic and too far-fetched to actually happen. 10/10 on the entertainment factor though.

I loved the original Peak, and I read this out of nostalgia. Few books written years after the original live up to the beginning, and this book did not either. Peak's character was changed, and the book ultimately didn't deliver the moral/meaning/deep philosophical look on life the original did. It seemed more rushed, too, with a few plot holes and less character growth.

I love Peak so much, (and the novel Peak), but this book didn't work for me. It felt like there was no development, and I didn't get to know any of the new characters. Almost boring.
