A short story that only took about an hour to read but beautifully written. I was expecting rather more of a plot twist at the end but Susannah and her selfish husband David have sufficient depth, given the constraints of a short story. An atmospheric ghostly tale with the setting of Wintermoor Hall against the historic background of the English Civil War.
