Let me preface this by saying that I haven't read a book since Good Omens a little under a year ago. I have been so involved in the fandom community that I felt no urge to pick up another book.
And then this book came along.
I must confess, I picked it up because I follow the author on Tumblr. I was not expecting the grapple it would get on my heart and soul. I was completely hooked by the middle of chapter 1 and was reluctant every time I had to put it down. (Family obligations and sleep, although I did wake up early in order to finish it today.)
The characters are so compelling. My heart broke every time someone died. Spoilers? You know the story of Exodus, I'm sure, at least in part, so you know where this story goes. Believe me, I forgot, because I was so enthralled by the story.
Highly recommend this book. Buy it for yourself and then for everyone you know!
