Detailing Eddy's life during his time at Auschwitz, it's thought to be the only book ever written in Auschwitz itself.
It focuses a lot on the every day life and the hierarchal structure between camp mates itself. It looks at how Eddy was able to sneak around to still have contact with his wife, and the hard decisions that you have to make in order for yourself and your loved ones to survive.

Interesting to read a first hand account of Auschwich which was written while still in the camp. He writes the lead character with another name although wholly his story, I imagine as a way to cope with telling his truth.edinaakerekes's review against another edition
