This is a great new addition to the Haven Point series.
In this book, we have two people who have been circling each other for a very long time.
Megan Hamilton is dealing with a lot of issues from her photography career, running her family inn, and her brother's missing wife.
Elliot Bailey is dealing with a bullet wound to his shoulder from his work in the FBI, suspension from the FBI, a book deadline, and digging into an ex-friend's missing wife.
This book was good enough that I could not put it down and was anxious to see how it would end.

Megan is not happy to be renting one of the cottages to Elliot. She feels that he betrayed her brother who was his friend. 7 years ago her brother's wife disappeared. No one was ever charged, but public opinion has some nasty rumors concerning her brother. So when Elliot starts checking up on the open case Megan isn't sure whether to be happy or concerned.
Elliot has been suspended from the FBI for disobeying a direct order and rescuing some girls from the sex slave trade. He is also trying to finish his novel which is past its deadline. However, his attraction for Megan keeps distracting him.
Maybe more of 3.5 if you don't like hanging endings.

I love Haven Point. The quaint town, the wonderful neighbors, and the beautiful setting. Yet, the neighbors have secrets. They have secret loves, hates, and just plain old secrets. This is the story of Megan and Elliot. Megan has secretly always felt a pull towards Elliot even when she was dating his brother and when he was investigating her brother for murder. Elliot had purposely stayed away from Megan because he couldn’t trust his feelings. Now they are both in Haven Point, actually, they are truly neighbors and the pull between them is stronger than ever.
While the romance is a focus of the story, the investigation into Megan’s brother’s wife disappearance is just as entertaining. I did read some of the other books in the series so I had a good understanding of what was happening and who was being accused of what but it was fun to catch up on what was going on and see Elliot work to find out the entire truth. I am hoping that this storyline will continue in future books and the reader will find out more about the truth.
The Cottages on Silver Beach is a part of a series. The characters continue throughout the series, some of the storylines are mentioned but each is a stand-alone story. They can be read in any order without losing any of the charm of Haven Point.

Lovely contemporary story with a bit of mystery
Rounded up from 3.5 stars.
Format: Kindle
Length: 384 pages
Genre: contemporary romance
Hero: FBI agent on suspension/true crime writer
Heroine: owner of local Inn/semi-professional photographer
Trigger: domestic violence (past and alleged)
This was a good continuation of the series. We’ve seen the rest of the Bailey children get married off and this time it was the elusive eldest brother, Elliott. Also, Megan Hamilton, whom we met in the first book when her Inn burns down, finally gets her HEA. Elliott and Megan have been circling each other for years but they encounter some obstacles; she dated his deceased brother years ago, also her brother Luke, Elliott’s former BFF, was accused of murdering his wife when she disappeared 7 years ago and everyone thinks he did it, including Elliott. There’s a bit of mystery and intrigue, a solid addition to the series.

RaeAnne Thayne and the Haven Point series is a series to start at the beginning, but as with all romance series you can hope in and out of this one. There have been books in this series that I completely joined and ones that were just so so. I loved this one!
Megan Hamilton owns a small inn in town that has recently overcome a fire and is back up and running. Elliott Bailey who is from a prominent family in town has returned and Megan is not quite excited for him to return, but of course if you are a romance reader you know that this will only fuel the flame!

I really enjoyed this one! This was only my second of RaeAnn’s books and I think I can confidently say she is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. This book was the perfect mix of suspense and romance.

This is my second RaeAnne Thayne book that I have read and I absolutely loved it. My plan is to now go back and read the rest of the series.. I loved the underlying pull of attraction between the two main characters that neither one wanted to admit to. You wanted to read the book quickly so you could see that these two finally figured off they would be great together. Both main characters were strong people who knew what they wanted and what their goals should be, but I liked that they both had their vulnerabilities (Megan her doubt with her photography and Elliot his embarrassment when people loved his writing). Right from the start their story grabs you and you want to quickly get to the end to hopefully see them get together, however when the book does end you find yourself looking for more! I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out!

What an interesting mix of suspense, mystery and a romance in one place. It kept me until the end without putting it down.
This is my first book written by RaeAnne Thayne and now I'm sorry that I've started with the eighth book in the Haven Point series, but I will make sure to correct that and read the first seven now.

A long-unrequited love. A cold case. A mysterious injury – all these combine in Thayne’s eighth Haven Point novel to bring readers another sweet romance. Tension immediately crackles between Megan and Elliott, the weight of many deeply held emotions coming back to the surface, each layer bringing with it a compelling backstory. It also insures that readers will be eagerly waiting for the next book in the series, with just enough teased to be intriguing but not frustrating. Elliott’s suppressed feelings for Megan simmer deliciously, and occasionally flare to life in heated kisses, while Megan’s authentic struggles make her relatable and very likable. Thayne’s trademark charm shows up in both the setting and the characters, making this a delightful read no matter the time of year.
