If you liked the show "Dexter," then you might like this book.  Two serial killers who only target "bad" serial killers get together.  The book is very funny, and there is lots of sex.  I can see why it's a TikTok favorite.  The author nicely gives you a two-page warning of content triggers at the beginning of the book, so you can decide if this is something you'd want to read.  I found it entertaining, but I tend to like the macabre.

If it turns into a movie or television serious, it would look amazing animated.

Check the trigger warnings, but this book is incredibly well written, funny, and easy to blast through.

If I could give this book six stars, I would. I DEMOLISHED this book so fast and will probably re-read it multiple times while I wait for the next book in the series to be released. I only gagged twice, but this book definitely isn't for the squeamish. This book had me questioning how f*cked in the head I genuinely am the entire time. Thanks, Brynn, for permanently ruining Orzo pasta and cookies and cream ice cream for me. It often feels like the romance genre is full of the same plots and archetypes repeated over and over again, but this story breaks that mold for sure. And congratulations to Rowan for joining the list of characters that set unattainable standards (even if he is a serial killer) for me.

Fast-paced. Dark humor. A deadly competition between two vigilante serial killers who fall in love. I simply couldn't help myself. And I am incredibly glad that I did! Even though I'm definitely scarred for life (seriously, read the content warnings before...Weaver isn't messing around).
This book made me laugh-out-loud probably more than I would care to admit. I loved Rowan's quick wit (and the fact that he's obsessed with Blackbird from day one), and sweet -- scoop-your-eyeballs-out -- Sloane. This is truly a tale of unconditional love, albeit insanely grotesque circumstances. It's a riot!

In the best way possible, what the fuck did I just read?

I saw a few things online that piqued my interest, I’m so glad I picked it up. As an avid enjoyer of all things grotesque, macabre, & morbid I was IMMEDIATELY enraptured by this book. I mean who else wouldn’t be like “fuck yeah I’m in” at the first mention of a rotting corpse.

The premise, to me, was unique and fun while also allowing for some interesting characters and sub plots. I usually don’t enjoy books with split POV’s but I must say this really worked, like REALLLY worked for storytelling.

I would 1000% recommend this, however it’s not for the faint of heart. Yes it is very much a dark rom-com but it is DARK. Don’t get me wrong I was laughing and blushing the whole way but when serial killers are involved, yikes. Very much read the triggers before diving in.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5  / 5

I kept hearing things about the infamous “ice cream” and I’m not okay, like part of me knew but also I was UNPREPARED.
I LOVE the “obsessed from the start” trope. It has me in a CHOKEHOLD!
Also Rowan’s POV for their first time… immaculate.
Really hated the “I have to break your heart to save you” shit it just feels icky but I fucking knew we couldn’t trust David.
