I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. As old as it is and as hyped up as it is, I was not expecting it to have the high quality and thoroughness that it did. I truly enjoyed the attention to not just open or free love, but to notions of consent and diversity and healthy sexuality.
I think this book is a great read for anyone. It perhaps isn't as in depth as some new poly folk might need to make their roadmaps, but it is a great starting point to the kind of thinking that will make a successful poly relationship possible. From there, other poly books will supply the detail that an unsure individual or couple might need.
I think the authors did a wonderful job, and I'm tempted to read some of their other works in the future. While the book does address lots of issues about open relationships and poly lifestyles, it also has a ton of very valuable information on how to build one's relationship (monogamous or not) with another and how to become comfortable in one's own skin and to enjoy their body and sexuality. It would be a great read even for monogamous individuals or couples. Glad to have finally gotten around to this one.

This is a great guide on how to form a healthy relationship with anyone.
Interesting read, a lot of useful information and perspectives. I appreciated the authors attempts not to come off as patronizing or all knowing, I think most of the time they were spot on, but also regularly failed in that endeavor. The book asserts that it offers guidance to a multitude of relationship styles, but atthe end of the day it seemed very directed at a very open type of poly. Nevertheless, very interesting and thought provoking. Definitely recommend to all who are thinking about a poly life or are looking for ideas and tips in that realm.
