People need to not live in this town. Don't trust anyone.

This couple just didn't interest me. I made it to chapter 24 before I skimmed the rest. Hopefully the next one is better.

The love between these two was OFF THE CHARTS! Nothing ever stays hidden in small towns and it was only a matter of time. His secret was so emotional, I loved how it was written into the book. It showed how his love never faded and proved everything has always been about the two of them!

I really loved this book. Was it a little predictable? Yes. But it didn’t take away from the plot, at least for me, at all. I thought there was a little less suspense than I expected, but it focused more on the relationship between Cade and Peyton, which was very necessary for this plot to work.

Peyton lived a pretty difficult life. But she was determined to give her daughter everything. She depended on nobody and had no plans for that to change. Until Cade walked back into her life. There was a big miscommunication that altered both their lives, and it took some effort on Cade’s part to put the pieces together. I normally don’t like a miscommunication to take center stage, but I didn’t mind this one. It was a big deal and it wouldn’t have done the book justice for either Cade or Peyton to just get over it.

I really liked Cade’s character. He was a huge celebrity but very down to earth. He was all in with Peyton, even when he thought she ghosted him. I loved getting to see how devoted to her he really was in their time apart.

The suspense was predictable to me. I figured out pretty quickly who the stalker was. But it was still pretty intense at the end. I loved how everything played out and where this book left off, with a little tease of Boy Reilly and Girl Reilly!

I've thoroughly enjoyed this series. It has been filled with suspense, mystery, and great characters. Normally, I don't like the series to end. However, this one seemed to be missing some of the connections that I enjoyed in the previous books. I missed the characters, even though the made an appearance but the main storyline felt off.

Maybe this is just a miss but I'm not sure where else this storyline can go. I struggled to stay with the story partially because I didn't understand the action of Cecelia and that Jess, as cute as she was, did not even remotely act or talk like a four-year-old, genius or not. I'm still a huge fan of this author but I'm not sure if I will be continuing this series.

I think this is where my journey ends with this series.  It is starting to feel a bit drawn out, and tbh the narration of the audiobook is not great.
