I never knew to suspect Dr. Kano at the time which was weird bc he was giving off bad vibes with him apparently not seeing anything suspicious with Kaneki during their checkups.

Hide is a different breed of a character in that he can really pick up on things that no one else can. He’s steps ahead of the doves and would’ve made a good one if he didn’t also realize that ghouls and humans and very much so alike. That they both have families, feelings, emotions, and friends.

The first mentions of the clown masks for the 3rd ward and Matsubara. “The wicked ape of the 20th ward”

Touka so desperately wanting to be a normal human and forcing herself to eat food made by her friends.

Yomo being the one to have initially trained Touka and he isn’t her uncle. Which nobody finds this out till the end of Re.

Tsukiyama introduction, what a freak of a man.

Itori being the one to mention about one eye ghouls. How supposedly a ghoul and a human had one. How it was stronger than pure ghouls because it took the superior qualities from both sides. But that’s just a rumor.

Yomo and Uta being the ultimate frenemies. I’ve heard them described as the archetype to Gojo and Geto.

Rize’s death not being an accident? Saw somebody ontop of the construction?

Kaneki is really getting his first introductions to ghouls eating other ghouls.

Kimi and Nishio

“I just happened to be born a human. That’s the only reason why I’m allowed to live a moral life” Kimi speaking the truth that if she was a ghoul she would have to kill too. So she understands it.

This volume stepped up in terms of body horror which I really enjoyed.
Generally tho, it felt like a filler episode: its purpose is to build intrigue and to establish new challenges for the characters, not to continue the plot.
Excited to see where the story goes.
