This was the book from this series I originally wanted to read, and I did like it better than the first book. Hockey was definitely a background feature at most, but that makes sense considering the main plot takes place over the summer. This book also did a better job than the first of introducing side characters so the scope didn’t feel so limited.

This was really interesting plot wise because Nate did not think through the ramifications of fake-dating a man and having to 'come out' to his entire family and social circle in one fell swoop - absolute himbo!
I liked the way Collin was completely there for Nate even though they were effectively complete strangers to begin with, and their relationship just progressed really naturally. I could have done with a few less sex scenes, but it did fit with the fact Nate was discovering more about himself.
I also would have liked to see a bit more of them together at the end after the big decisions had been made - I wanted to see Nate introducing Collin to his team, their life in Washington etc. but it was still an enjoyable read.

This book has one of the best sexuality awakening later in life that I've ever read. But that's just one of the things I've loved about the book, with the others being: the found family, a MC with a fully tattoed body, a realistic love story (in the good and in the bad). Love it! I will read other books fron the author.
