I love this series but this book was just okay. It great getting all of the background but the first half was boring. It was like a drawn out after school special.
I loved that this sucked me right back into the world of 4225 West and made me jump right back in to re-read Finding My Forever. I still hate Sam with an absolute passion and I still think Liam is a man whore of epic proportions and doesn't really deserve Josie, but damn the story is good.
I loved the look into Liam's life through his eyes. It really helped connect the dots on what happened in those 10 missed years and explained how someone who loved a girl all his life just ended up walking away.
Furthermore, I loved that we got Liam's POV without it just being a regurgitation of Forever My Girl. There were new elements to the story that made the book worth it's money. We get to go along on a whole new ride.
Finally it had the most tender moments of Josie and Liam from high school. I think that was absolutely one of the best things about the book.
Oh wait I lied, the little glimpses of Mason and Katelyn's relationship ALSO made this an amazing book.
The story was everything a Beaumont Series fan could want.

Most prequels are just a rehashing of stories already told or no connection to the rest of the series. This is not the case, it is the backstory of Liam, with him telling the story of his high school years, his dysfunctional family dynamics and the day he made the decision that not only changed his life, but broke the heart of his first love and alienated his friends. Odd enough his father never acknowledged the decision but kept paying his inheritance monthly too him.
We see Liam age from an 18 year old chasing a dream, to success in his late twenties. This also clears up some questions I had about other characters that appear in later books

I rather would have read a book about their wedding and the future more then this...I already felt as though I understood Josie and Liam in forever my girl..it made me not really like Liam and I loved him in forever my girl and the rest of the series...plus it made me not really like his grandmother and so of the things mason did effected other people....if anything please write about the future!!!
My favorite in the series besides the original. We already know the story from the other books... but it was still fun to read.
So good it made me want to re-read book one again. Love that we got the backstory of why Liam made the choices he did
I am obsessed with the Beaumont series. Before a new book comes out I have to read the past books. I will be forever grateful to the author for writing Finding My Way. It fills in so many questions I have had in the past.
What happened in Beaumont to create Liam's doubt? Why did Liam feel so alone? Why did he leave and never go back? The biggie question----What was Josie's voicemail message that he kept always?
What was it like in LA? How did Betty treat Liam? What were the family dynamics that caused Liam to never know her before she contacted him and how did she know about him? How did Liam get his start? What was his professional journey?
Most importantly how did he put up with Sam? What was Liam and Sam's relationship like in the beginning and in the future years? Can I say it was really nice to have further validation on hating a character.
If you are Beaumont addict like me, you won't want to skip this book.

OMG, so good that I had to reread Forever My Girl when I finished.
My Thoughts
When I filled in the form to be part of the blog tour for Finding My Way I never thought I would be selected to take part in it, never mind to be one of the few to have a review stop. I got the email while waiting for a movie to start in the cinema, and I may have done a little happy dance.
After reading the previous books in this series I already know what happens and have a bit of background information on some of the characters. I already know that Liam's Dad is a piece of work, but getting to see the younger Liam's life and really see what his Dad is like, just makes me detest him more. He is such a nasty, vile, judgemental person, I really wonder how other people have not seen this side of him before and also question why Liam's Mum put up with it, alcoholic stupor or not.
I like how open Liam is about his feelings for Josie, it's real and new, and it makes your heart melt that little bit more. It was sad to see Liam so disheartened with college football, but without that he wouldn't become Liam page, so it was a great opportunity to see where it all stemmed from and the build up to the decision that changed Liam's life. I never knew how tough it was for Liam to do what he does, and how much he gives up to follow his dream. Part of me thinks he could have given Josie the benefit of the doubt and explained it to her instead of running off, but seeing him suffer broke my heart.
Watching Liam change from Liam Westbury, to Liam Page was an emotional, eye opening journey, and I am so glad I got to take this with him. I love the inspiration behind his stage name and thought it was a very fitting way to remember his roots. Spending time with his Grandmother was a change of pace for Liam, not only in having a stable, loving home to go to, but it also enabled him to really explore his dreams and desires, and I love how supportive his Grandmother is of him, but how firm she is of making sure he sticks to the straight and narrow path. When Liam loses her I cried, I sobbed my heart out over his loss, of losing possibly the only person who really believed in him.
Finding My Way was an unputdownable read, and I reluctantly had to put this down to go to work, but picked it straight back up the second I got home. I devoured every single page of Finding My Way, and reading this just made me want to re-read the entire series again. Finding My Way may be the prequel to this series, but it also showed me things that I had no idea about, and opened my eyes that little bit more to the journey that Liam takes.
Heidi has once again sucked me into the world of Liam, which to be honest didn't take much as love this series so much, and if you have yet to make a start on The Beaumont Series, then you NEED to pick this book up straight away, and start from the beginning. before Liam Westbury became Liam Page, and take this journey with him.
