I really enjoyed this book. It's a good thriller, and some passages left me holding my breath.
The whole Atlantis plot was great and interesting, though I'm not really that into God and all the myths surrounding it like the Garden of Eden. But I found that the author was thorough and it was pleasant anyway.
What I found a bit less entertaining though was the personality of Lourds, which I found all too boastful, as well as Leslie who, though threatened by an army of bad guys, finds the bravery to be jealous. It felt a bit too unrealistic.
On the whole it's a good entertaining book, worth the read, despite a few flaws and maybe the writing style of the author, which I found to "movie-like". I'm no professional and this is only my personal point of view!

This book is what it is. It's a stereotypical treasure hunt story. The writing is just so-so, the characters are one dimensional, but the pace is good, and it's an interesting concept.

The Atlantis Code isn't bad for a kind of Indiana Jones wannabe. The story is interesting and exciting, the characters are, for the most part, believable. The only exception to this is the protagonist, Thomas Lourds. Though I actually did like his character, he's a bit of a Mary Sue. He's incredibly intelligent, good looking, and capable in every way, although he's an academic. Personally, I don't know any academics who are also handsome millionaires. Even Indiana Jones, handsome, charming, and capable, was no millionaire, and failed in many of the things he tried. Lourds doesn't. He's able to solve every problem he faces with little difficulty. And he beds BOTH of the female main characters without even trying. He's just that good. I also didn't appreciate the very erotic sex scene in the middle of the book. Some people like that kind of thing. I don't.
Overall, though, this book was interesting and entertaining, and that's all I ask for.

Interesting storyline. Misogynistic portrayal of women.
Liked the concept of connecting Atlantis to the Christian history of the world. However, Lourds comes off as a misogynistic ass. And having two capable and intelligent women mooning after him even in the middle of all the action is too far fetched. Wanted to like the series because I like these types of books but the characters were not relatable at all.

At first I was sucked into the story by the intrigue of Atlantis and the potential adventure. I would give the last half of the book a two for predictability, a little more info than I wanted on the professor's dealings with women, and the abrupt and anti-climatic ending.

I really tried to get through this one, but the writing (specifically the dialogue) was just so bad, I had to give up. :(

I picked up this book intending it to be a light read that didn't tax my brain too much and that's exactly what I got. It's not going to set the world on fire but it was paced enough to keep me interested to the end, even if it was a bit predictable.
