It was nice to get a story about a ghost and not another Valkyrie. Conrad and Naomi were a nice couple, but I don’t really have a lot to say about them. The book was good, but it didn’t leave that big of an impression on me. I like that all the brothers are now reunited. I’m also excited for the Woede brothers to get their books. But in conclusion, I don’t really have a lot to say about this book. It was good. That’s it.

Dark Needs at Night's Edge is the fourth book in Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series, and is just as deliciously bonkers as the previous three! This book focuses on Conrad Wroth (brother to Sebastian from No Rest For the Wicked). Conrad is a "turned" vampire, meaning he's drank people to death and absorbed their memories and strength. It also means he's quite deranged, since he has a ton of memories in his head that aren't his, all clamoring to be heard. His brothers, though, think he can be saved, and lock him up in a moldering old mansion in Louisiana. The mansion, however, happens to be the home of a beautiful ghost named Neomi, who was a ballerina before she was brutally murdered. Conrad is the only person who has ever been able to see Neomi, and soon they start talking and spending time together. While Neomi is around, Conrad starts to get better, but they both know they can never truly be together. All the while, Conrad is being hunted by enemies he made in his old life.

A blood lust vampire meets a ghost.

Conrad never wanted to be a vampire. Matter-of-fact he was taught to despise the species before he was turned. Because of his hatred he has made deals and killing, but each time he drains someone, he gains all their memories. In the midst of going mad, his brothers take him to a secluded house in order to help him overcome his madness. The madness might not be as easily to overcome as he thought, because he swears there is a woman with him.

Neomi was brutally murdered by her ex fiancé and has since been stuck in her house. Over the years, she's grown lonely. People have always come and go, but no one has ever been able to see her. But hope arises when these men make their appearance and one of them makes a mention at seeing her.

This is a bit of a slow burn, for obvious reasons. But when there's a will, there's a way.

Highlights of reading:

Virgin Hero - literally came in his pants

This woman wanted a buttery croissant and this man traced to France to get her one.

Dark Needs at Night's Edge is probably my favourite book of the series so far. I was pleasantly surprised at the relationship that developed between Neomi and Conrad, especially seeing as Neomi is a ghost and Conrad is a vampire.

I thought the way that they interacted was both hilarious and beautiful. They really grew to appreciate each other as people and developed a strong respect for each other before anything became sexual.

I wasn't too sure how this was all going to resolve itself and get worked out, and I was speculating with my lovely friend Izzy the whole time, unfortunately I wasn't even on the mark lol. I was happy with how it all ended and with how their relationship went from strength to strength.

I'm really enjoying reading this series and I'm looking forward to seeing where we're going next.

4.5 stars. This one felt different from the previous ones in the series and I LOVED it. Didn’t think I’d like this one as much as the other ones, but I was SO glad to be proven wrong!
