I’m not a big fan of second chance because it often feels like too much or not enough when they reconnect, but I really liked this one. The emotions and fears were well described and realistic.
There wasn’t too much drama, normal human interactions, besides the epilogue which I didn’t like (but I understand it helps prepare the next book).
I loved the dog and the family bond, but I didn’t connect emotionally to the MCs, although I did understand their doubts and personality.
A nice, well written story!

Love You Too is a sweet, second chance romance with plenty of heat and so much heart. I loved watching Ren and Trix find their way back to one another!

These two fell in love at a young age but life decisions tore them apart. Fast forward ten years and they run into one another again. They have so many feelings to work through while also navigating a surprise pregnancy. Ren regrets leaving Beatrix and he shows her how much. I loved watching him show up for her and learn how to love more than just hockey. Trix learns there's more to life than work, and watching her open her heart again was beautiful. They definitely belonged together!

ARC review.

★★★☆☆,, 3/5

just a short little romance to get me out of the impending slump i was about to face after reading fantasy nonstop. honestly not a bad book, didn't have strong feelings about it.

one thing i didn't like was the fact that ren proposed and married her at her sisters wedding. we didn't really get anything else besides just miscommunication which i haaaate. not a fan of the pregnancy trope but i already knew about it coming into the book so it didn't piss me off at much as it normally would.

solid cute fun short read, would rec.

This was my first book by Stacy Travis and I really enjoyed it. It is well written and the characters were developed nicely. This is a second chance/grumpy sunshine/he falls first story with a funny meet cute. (reacquaintance really). I enjoyed the whole small town, large family vibe that Beatrix had going on. I'm certain this whole series is about them and I hope to read those stories as well. I liked how Ren handled Beatrix while trying to get her to give him another chance. This was an audio listen for me and the narrators did a great job bringing this story to life. If you are looking for something low on the angst scale and just an enjoyable story then I recommend picking this one up.

This book was short but sweet. It had so many touching moments.
It starts with a meet-cute, when Beatrix is knocked over by a cute doggy. His owner, a hot man, comes to her rescue. Except this isn't a meet-cute with a stranger at all! He's Dominick “Ren” Renaldi, the man who broke her heart 10 years ago when he left her behind for the NHL.
As much as she wants to hate him, she's still very attracted to him, and he has a home renovation project straight from her dreams, so she goes back to his place to check it out. One thing leads to another, and they have a ONE TIME ONLY (by Trix's demand, and to Ren's disappointment) tryst.

When Trix finds out she's pregnant a few weeks later, she tells him, but gives him a complete out if he wants it. He can be as uninvolved or involved as he wants. To Trix's surprise (but none of ours!), he's all in.
Ren is such book boyfriend material. He knows her favorite flower, he makes sure she eats and rests, he knows her to her core, and after 10 years of pining and regret, he's in this for the long haul, even before the accidental pregnancy.
But, as he did 10 years ago, Ren has trouble finding balance between hockey and his love life. And Trix, being a hardworking Type A planner boss babe, has trouble letting go of the reins at work and in her life, and won't let herself rest even now. Can the two find a happy balance and a happily ever after?

This was book 4 in the Buttercup Hill (standalone) series by Stacy Travis. I haven't read any other books in this series or from this author, but I've found myself invested in the next book, and I'm curious about the previous books, so it will likely not be my last. It's quite a big family, but we get little explanations of who everyone is and their stories, so, despite not reading the other books, it was easy enough to read without feeling too lost.

Beatrix has worked extremely hard for her family’s vineyard and resort, but when she’s been working too hard her assistant sends her away to take a break which is hard for her Trix but needed. While walking around town she literally crashed into the one person that shattered her heart years ago Ren, and after some heated glances, memories rushing through they share a hot night together that leaves Trix with more than just memories. Ren has worked hard for his hockey career and when him and Trix where together in college he didn’t think he could balance his career and a long distance relationship or any kind of relationship which left him breaking Trix’s heart. Now they both have to figure out if they can make things work because it won’t just be the two of them any more, but they both have fears that make them hesitant. Can they find a way to make things work at least for the unexpected bundle? This story was such a cute and fun read that did pack a lot on the emotional front but ended up being a book I thoroughly enjoyed these two while they worked on themselves and their relationship and I really loved how much Ren was sweet towards Trix in all ways.

Love You Too is the 4th book in the Buttercup Hill series, but I think it can definitely be read as a standalone. I love the small town and winery vibes of this series, but that may be because I am a wine girlie.

Beatrix is a strong and hardworking woman who has been extremely focused on her career at her family winery and resort. However, her life gets shaken up when she runs into her college sweetheart, Dominick “Ren” Renaldi. Ren broke Beatriz’s heart when he chose hockey over her when he went to the NHL, even though she was willing to leave school to be with him. His dog literally runs into her, and Ren takes her back to his place to show her the house he bought to remodel in her small town. The connection between them is still strong, and they end up having a one-night stand. Beatrix just wants it to be a one and done, but she offers to take care of his dog while he is traveling for hockey, and they start to text a lot.

Beatrix is still afraid to trust or try anything with him, but her life changes when she realizes she is pregnant. I loved how quickly she told Ren and how there was no miscommunication or drama around the baby. Ren really wanted to be with Beatrix, but he had to figure out the right balance since he always felt he needed 100% focus on hockey.

I really loved how sweet and swoony Ren could be and how he stepped up for Beatrix, especially when it’s revealed how long he wanted her back. One of my favorite scenes was when he shaved her since her belly was getting too big. I love caretaking scenes.

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

I was so happy I was able to listen to this audiobook and discover some new narrators.  Hannah Chiclana and Wesley Mercer did an amazing job with this sweet second chance romance. They brought the characters to life and could feel the chemistry and connection of the characters.
