Fast paced. I felt like the characters didn’t really develop smoothly nor did their relationships, they almost just jumped from one step to the next without the transition between. They hate each other, they’re about to kiss, they’re going to jump each other like rabbits, etc.
i feel like this book would be improved by adding a little more depth to the characters and their relationship building.
The betrayal fell a bit short and no one seemed to be all that bothered by it? Even though they’ve been life long friends for over 100 years.

First off: I'm not sure why people are complaining about this being a rip off of Cruel Prince...because the story is completely different. Cover is extremely similar (the designer knew what they were doing) but other than that...
I really liked it.
Yesterday I was really really in the mood for Beauty and the Beast - and imagine my surprise when I realised that this was still unread on my ereader.
It took me a minute to understand the setting. The Fae-/Fantasy-world in this book is basically a bubble or a parallel world to our modern day one. So the humans have cars, MRIs, Electricity and swearwords, while over in the fantasy-world they still ride horses, use torches, ...
I feel indifferent, slightly positive about it but know that many people will not like that.
Dani is alright.
I did very much like the prince & his friends...until the third-act-breakup (if you can even consider it that). Be angry with the guy whocheated, not the (unknowing) women who he cheated with. Like what kind of assholes are they? She had no idea about anything and still they blamed her. He should've been the one telling her, holding himself back - he had all the information. I was so annoyed with his friends, re-becoming all friendly with her, once she saved his stupid life and wasn't needed anymore.
I was also fascinated by how fast she learned to ride.
But anyways, I liked his possessiveness, quite liked their banter (even though it was childish sometimes), I liked the sexual tension.
The smut was...there but it wasn't anything amazing. Unbothered by that though.
Objectively I should probably give it 3 stars but I did read it within a few hours and immediately ordered book two, so...subjectively I did like it very much.
