This series should have been called Wanderers. A new character was introduced to the group, Chenoa who had the pleasure to wander as well and then to die. I guess the only reason to add her was to be able to kill her off, instead of one of the main characters but i had the feeling that this was quite senseless Lusa is being carried on the backs of the others now for over a few books because the ice had a bad effect on her. The effect must have been way worse than I thought cause she isn't even allowed to walk on her own for a few paces.....? The ending was actually a bit more interesting Yakone's paw got cought in a snare and thus he lost two toes. The situation was already dangerous cause a group of Coyotes was hunting them down, though i don't understand why 4, almost grown, bears are fleeing from a group of Coyotes?

It’s frustrating when an old favorite fails you, but I just can’t take the repetitiveness of this story anymore. There’s only so many times I can take these bears wandering around and hunting and arguing about the same things over and over again. The characters "change" every two chapters, and never do these changes stick. I’m not giving up on this series yet, but it won’t take much for me to quit.
