OMG This series could not get any better. I loved how the twist at the end of it. I love Sabina and all the baggage and I think that Jaye Wells is doing great job at writing her.

Great read, loved having all the gang again :D

Though I was put off reading this, due to reading someone's review, but after choosing to ignore it for my own opinion, I got right into it and loved it :D

Great twist at the end :D

3.5 - I am always of two minds with Sabina - some times I love her spunk, her brain and her strength. Some times I just want to bitch slap her because she consistently plays into others hands and plans. In Silver-Tongued Devil, this was no different. I will say that I was surprised by who was doing all 'stuff' and then I wasn't. I knew who ultimately was causing the mayhem, yet his vessel was a bit of a surprise. I was also surprised at the casualty list at the end of this. It was pretty shocking.

I will continue with the series. Jaye Wells has kept me intrigued and Sabina's growth and story line has been enough for me to stick with it.

Emotional Rollercoaster.... Obviously I'm quite invested in this rag-tag band.... Oh I love them so... The Lilith angle on vampires is not new but this story does it well and believably :)

This is the fourth book in the Sabina Kanes series. I think it's been a really strong series from the beginning and the books retain that consistency throughout. Jaye Wells does a wonderful job making each story fast-paced. I didn't want to stop reading.

This book starts out a few months after the end events in [b:Green-Eyed Demon|8850140|Green-Eyed Demon (Sabina Kane, #3)|Jaye Wells|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1327939649s/8850140.jpg|10617568]. Everyone is still dealing with the life changing events. Sabina has been living life on the right side. She hasn't killed or taken blood from a human in all that time and she's continued to work on her magic. Maisie is probably the worse for wear after what she went through being imprisoned by Lavinia. Because of that she closes herself off and it 's difficult for Sabina to interact with Maisie. Along with that the Dark Races are trying to make peace and there's two mysterious murders that pop up. Of course everyone thinks the murders are an attempt to thwart the peace signings.

This book really shows Sabina's growth as a character. Of course, we still see the at times slightly irrational side of her that would rather fight. Here is this book we see more calculating, more thought put into her words and actions. If you go back to the opening scene in [b:Red-Headed Stepchild|6056520|Red-Headed Stepchild (Sabina Kane, #1)|Jaye Wells|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1301510609s/6056520.jpg|4704444] with her and David where she just is about the job and asks no questions, to this book where she would rather get answers by talking it out before having to resort to violence. That's a lot of growth. Of course with being in a more "mellow" mood (I guess we can call it that) she starts feeling lost and I don't realy think we see a resolution for those feelings in this book. She becomes more accepting I think, but we'll have to wait for book 5 to see a true resolution I think.

Her relationship with Adam is strong, but like any relationship they have their ups and downs. I like the way Jaye Wells has written their relationship. They have to fight to be together because not only are they always in some kind of danger, but as of right now they are technically a mixed race couple, even with her mage blood the covenant doesn't allow it. That's why Sabina and Maisie's parents' relationship was so scandalous. Even though they go through the rough patches I like that they are still fighting for it and don't just give up. What would be the whole point?

The end of the book leads right away into the next book [b:Blue-Blooded Vamp|12305703|Blue-Blooded Vamp|Jaye Wells|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1323326912s/12305703.jpg|17283004] which I believe will be out in June and is the last book in the series. Everything in book 4 was definitely a build up to the big show down. Until Then!

This book was disappointing. I really didn't like the way Sabina handled a lot of things and she was way too judgmental for my liking. I've come to the realization that Adam is not the one for her. He doesn't truly accept her for who she is and that is bothersome. The situation with Maisie was handled poorly as well. I felt the book was too long and dragged on. Things starting picking up toward the end, but it wasn't enough to save this story. I'm just glad the next book is the finale of the series.

It's been a while since I was last in Sabina's world, but it took no time at all to ease myself back into their story and get hooked again.

Read my full review at The Wolf's Den

I'm still interested to know where the series will end. There are a couple novellas I might check out, but more than anything I want to know how things end. Will all our friends make it out okay? Will the rights outweigh the wrongs? Will the end justify the means? I have no doubt that it'll have a "happy" ending, in the sense that the bad guy doesn't win, but will it really be happy for everyone? After the shit that went down in this book, it had better.

Nothing happened in this book. With the exception of the death it was barely worthy of a couple chapters. It was all relationship angst and nearly no substance. As for the death, I have been so disappointed lately in series I like suddenly becoming cliff hanger series that I had to force my way through it, and by the time I got to the death I didn't really give a fuck. I was worried that the book ended on a cliff hanger/ setup for the next book. The truth is the entire book is a set up for the next book. It was filler, with a death to add drama.

I don't know if the book was disappointing or I'm just disappointed in the genre, or the authors of this genre, in general. 2 stars, less than liked but didn't hate.

This was really a 2.5 stars for me. I didn't love it and it was my least favorite in the series, but I like the series enough to continue and to round up my rating. It was just so slow. It took me forever to read. There was no action until about the last 100 pages or less. Really, it felt like the story could have just been that part. Oh well, on to the next one.

3.5 stars.

When I started this series, I had mixed feelings about it. I really like the world building and the backstory of the dark races, but Sabina just grated on my last nerve. But now four books into the series, Sabina has grown and evolved- definitely good character development. She's not my favorite paranorm heroine, but that's what I've come to like the most about Sabina, that for a heroine, she wasn't automatically likable. She had flaws, in fact quite a few, which ended up making her more real for me. She didn't start off being the awesome heroine that you wanted to root for, but she's definitely grown in that direction, and the growth has had a solid basis in the overarching storyline. With each book I pick up in the series, I'm finding it harder and harder to put down until I finish it.

As for this book, it did have a slower pace. And that was okay because the slower pace gave Sabina time to breath and reflect a bit. While I was a bit shocked at
(Maise's death)
the ending, I appreciate that it didn't end in a cliff-hanger. Can't wait to find out what happens
in the big battle with Cain
next.
