States of love was a good story. I enjoyed reading this story about these two lovers. Great writing and detailing in this story. Well done in writing this story.

Sweet story with a little drama and steam

This was an enjoyable short read. The characters were very sweet, especially Xander’s daughter Zoey, and despite some early drama, and eventual steam, overall I found it very light and fluffy. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book is part of the States of Love series and the main characters are Xander and Kate. Xander has taken his young daughter Zoey to a fast food restaurant as a treat for their dinner, but she really needs to use the bathroom before they can get their food. He checks out the men’s room, but it is occupied and has a line of urinals and he can’t march into the ladies without giving some a shock or being called a pervert! He spots a woman at a table nearby, who is alone and stands by her table until she notices them. It is his precocious daughter Zoey who explains in some quite grown up language, what they need and she asks if this woman, Kate, could help her daddy out. When Xander sees Kate from the front, he is even more attracted to her, than when he saw her from the back in the line ahead of them. Since Zoey is desperate, Kate leaves her food, asking Xander to watch her food doesn’t get cleared away, and takes the hand offered her and walks with Zoey to the toilets. When Xander wonders why they are taking so long, he gets worried he made a mistake letting a stranger take Zoey, but they are actually in even more danger than he could have ever thought!
Someone was already in the ladies toilets and they certainly weren’t a lady! What happens next is beyond any parent’s worst nightmare and Kate tries her best to make sure Zoey isn’t hurt. Xander ends up having to come to the rescue and would do anything to save his daughter, plus the innocent woman he put in this position. But that is not quite the end of the story, as more happens and goes wrong, placing them all in danger. Xander gets to play the hero for his daughter in a real life situation, and also help Kate as well. There is great chemistry between Xander and Kate, whilst Zoey is the star of the show! She comes out with some fantastic comments and seems to pick the perfect moment to interrupt the two of them, just as things were about to get steamy! A lovely HEA ending for all and you will fall in love with the characters, in particular Zoey, who is the star for me. A good length story, with enough to get you attached to the characters and find yourself rooting for them in the dangerous situations and cheering for them as the romance begins to sizzle. The ending gives a slight insight into the next book if the series and I look forward to reading it shortly. Cuteness Abounds

Very insta. Very over-the-top. Very cute.

Zoey manages to steal the show on several occasions, often unaware it's happening, but she's so adorable that I couldn't help but chuckle. I like that Kate and Xander take it all in stride, even if inwardly cringing.

This easy read started with one kind of tension filled situation and ends with a mild cliffhanger as it sets the scene for the next book in the series.

I enjoy these authors soooooo much.
This book was set to be a series of unfortunate events that give a great suspense plot.
And you want to hug everybody and protect them all.
If this is the start of a new series, sign me up to read them all!!!
