After sleeping on it, I decided to bump the star rating down by one.

There were some really exciting parts that kept me on the edge of my seat, but a majority of the book was repetitive action scenes. I also found it nearly impossible to connect to any of the characters.

The end battle was just too easy. If I didn't know there was going to be a sixth book, I would be really disappointed.

(I need a prequel series following Patton Burgess.)

Ending yang bagus namun agak kurang memuaskan karena berharap lebih.

Suka perkembangan karakter Seth. Kendra kurang berkembang di buku kelima ini.
Chapter 5 memang yang paling menegangkan.

Overall, 4 bintang lebih sedikit laah...

This book lived up to the hype and beyond. And the series just kept getting better and better. I absolutely loved it. Can't wait to read "Dragonwatch."

I have read reviews for this book and the word I've heard to describe it is "satisfied" which works for me. I think it was a great conclusion for the series.

Review of the series overall:
*For an adult, it could’ve been half as long. But I was invested enough to want to see how it ended.
*More romance than I anticipated or needed, but I can see how it would keep middle school girls interested in an otherwise gross/creepy series.
*I hate zombie stuff. Fewer descriptions of oozy, half-dead, putrid characters and I’d let my 9yo read it. I don’t want that junk in his head yet.

Mediocre book is mediocre. Predictable, with a number of unnecessary additions to the plot. As with the rest of the series, fabulous ideas but poor execution.

I thoroughly enjoyed this whole series! This last book, Keys to the Demon Prison, took me the longest to read - BUT I am glad it did because I didn't want the series to end. This is an easy series to jump into and enjoy! Highly recommend if you enjoy fantasy!

Wow, so much goes wrong in this book. So much. It doesn't seem like anything goes right until the last third of the book, and even then, a lot of things are still going wrong. I do like how Seth's recklessness and courageousness come back to be essential in this book. I also like how Kendra became a lot less timid. She gets some really good action scenes in this book.

My only complaint about this book is that everything seems to get resolved a little quickly. I like where it went and how the book ended. It worked well, but it was a little too easy. After everything that went wrong in the first part of the book, I expected some more resistance.

All in all, I liked where this book went. I liked how minor characters from book one became major contributors in book five. I loved the new characters, and there was so much that was carried through the entire series. It was a very good way to end the series.
