I love you so so dearly khalil gibran. I wept and underlined every page. I wish i could experience arabic literature in its original language

A heart-rending tale of young love, pining, familial obligation, sacrifice, and political aspirations that crush an innocent life into insignificance.

wow. just wow.

This has been a breath of fresh air, kind of ironic since this has been written a century ago. It is rare to see a realistic (classical) love story that gives the woman a strong voice. A peek into the beautiful Lebanese scenery, but also into the effects of religion and misogynistic traditions.

ماذا عساي أقول, انه خليل جبران بقوة كلماته و عظمة أحاسيسه, أسرتني, سحرتني’ و ذرفت الدموع لأنها حقا أبكتني

"اشفق يا رب وشدد جميع الأجنحة المتكسرة."

سبق وقرأت لجبران باللغة الإنجليزية والآن قرأت له بالعربية وقد أتقن الكتابة باللغتين، فما أعذب قلمه وأصدق إحساسه وأبدع وصفه وأوسع خياله!
