I read this book quite quickly because it was pretty engrossing. I was leaning more towards a 3 star review until I reached the last quarter of the book. The twist at the end is truly shocking and I didn’t expect it at all. I liked seeing the new side of Jane at the end, I think it was really unsettling but thrilling. A great thriller story about how your perfect neighbors aren’t as put together as they seem!

The Girl Next Door - Phoebe Morgan ⭐⭐⭐⭐
📚 I recommend this if you love a gripping and suspenseful thriller
This book was gifted to me by a friend, I'd never heard of the author but thoroughly enjoyed it!! Ideal if you're looking for a quick read that's well written.
It has 3 POVS: Clare, a teenager who has been murdered, Jane who lives next door to Clare, and the police investigator.
I did have my suspicions on who the murderer could be but I kept an open mind with how the plot developed. Definitely gave off unreliable narrator vibes and had some twists towards the end!
Genre: mystery
Number of Pages: 320
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Publisher: HQ
Series or Standalone: standalone
Tropes & Themes: unreliable narrator, secrets, lies, police investigation, police procedural, plot twist

I really enjoyed reading this book. I love mystery novels and this one was thrilling and very easy to read. The writing style was relaxing, not too extravagant, exactly what the plot needed. I definitely recommend this book if you want to read a nice mystery novel that will keep you at the edge of your seat with all its twists and turns!
