This book was first about The Gospel and second about same-sex attraction. It was a convicting read for anyone who struggles with sin of any kind. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to understand more about the LGBTQ community.

I started reading this book hoping it would actually be something I would feel good recommending to others, but ultimately, it's not. She has some interesting points and does make a compelling picture about her own testimony, but I don't agree with her ideas regarding what it truly means to be a woman and her statement that you shouldn't label yourself as a gay Christian, but "same-sex attracted is okay." Let's get this out of the way: whether you call yourself same-sex attracted or a gay Christian, you are still identifying yourself by "your sin." You are still viewing your Christianity through your LGBT lens. Maybe instead of wasting time arguing about the personal terms that we all use, focus your time on discipleship and relationships with everyone around you.

Jackie's story is a powerful testimony to the goodness of God, and it's told with the pen of a poet.

« And just like Jesus, we endure because we know joy will always be on the other side of obedience. So we look to Him. »

The author encounters a scary violent man and decides she needs a man “full of testosterone” to protect her against the other man but somehow…. Lesbianism is the problem?

In the end she compares her experience of heterosexual marriage to crucifixion and instructs people to embrace the suffering. Just a very sad read

Important for the church

There is something here for the whole church. The invitation to pursue Jesus above all and the reality of a life at war with temptation. We could all use an increasing dose of this good God!

This book is amazing. Jackie brings the truth, about all sin and all brokenness. Her writing style is beautiful. She is a poet and it is evident in the way she writes this book. If you need to be reminded of the truth of the gospel, this is a great book for that. Her teaching and writing are powerful and she holds nothing back.

This book showed me how no sin is greater than the other. Yeah we are taught that, but it actually made me think. People tend to look down at homosexuality and turn their eyes when someone is having sex outside of marriage. They are both the same sin, it is just one is accepted in society and the other one isn't. To God it is all the same. This book does not tell you that you will become straight when you come to God, but that you have to love God more than you sin to not live that lifestyle. God will always be there for His children, we just have to be willing to let Him in.
