Would have been an easy first 5 star read of 2024 for me if not for the ending. Way way too abrupt and open ended. I hate books, tv shows, movies anything that wants me to choose what I believe about the ending and then doesn’t actually tell me what happened.

So I am beginning to think that I will have to reevaluate my stance on whether or not I like thrillers, as this is yet another thriller that I enjoyed! It has another atmospheric setting- this time Sarek National Park- an apparently inhospitable location for hiking, but breathtakingly beautiful. A quick Google search verified the beauty! I enjoyed the format- flitting from interview to flashback, and felt like I was constantly trying to piece it together. I couldn't by the way!

Additionally, Kvensler has a unique talent for making you feel on edge. Without spoiling too much, I've never actually felt peril when reading about a mountain climb before, but I was literally sweating. My heart was pounding... it was a lot to take in.

I would be excited to read more by Kvensler. For fans of atmospheric, survivalist thrillers this is simply a must read!

3.50 ⭐️ Лично за мен няма нещо по-ужасяващо от мисълта да съм някъде на хиляди километри разстояние от общността, заклещена в планината високо над безопасната земя, без телефон, с ограничени ресурси и изключително сурови условия - в капан с непознат, за когото подозирам, че е психопат. А+ за идеята, определено този тип трилъри са много по-страшни от всеки демон или паранормална активност, която мога да срещна в другите книги.

Хареса ми, но мнооого се двоумя между 3.50 и 3.75. Когато я почнах си мислех, че няма да успея да я прочета за един ден, но ето, че успях. Книгата беше интересна, ще се опитам максимално да споделя мнението си без да спойлвам, но все пак е възможно да издам нещо, така че… Оглеждайте се за ⚠️, с това емоджи ще предупреждавам за евентуални спойлери.
