This was kind of a bummer. I enjoyed a little over the first half of the book but then things just started dragging on. I was informed there was going to be lots of groveling and boy do I love that but I was disappointed. I didn’t love or dislike Killian but I also didn’t really feel anything for our female lead either.

I almost DNFed this , but I'm so glad I didn't. I was very torn between being able to continue reading when Una had Abertha "help" her in the blackberry bramble. I think I speed read the next bit until I had reassurances that there was a path forward. Once I got that, I really started to love this book. Then, the characters started to live in my head.
I do hate the "damaged" FMC trope for books. However, I really enjoyed so much else about this book and this world that it was easy to move past my distain for that particular character type. At least his dick didn't magically fix her leg. That would have been the end of it for me.

Sometimes all you need is a shifter romance.
