As many other reviewers I'm not really sure what I just read. This feels like a book that wants you to think deeply and make your own assumptions and connections about the plot through metaphors. I need to sit with this one for a while. Maybe even reread it. But for the time being I don't think I can give it a rating. If you like this one I recommend reading Strega by Johanne Lykke Holm. They both have lyrical writing, vague plot, not really sure what's going on from moment to moment but enjoyed the dark vibes. I do think I liked Strega more than this one.

I really thoroughly enjoyed the eerie, strange nature of this novella. I love stories with no names and thus sense of something beyond description trying to be put into words. I could probably write essays on a single line of this novel.

whoa…this was really hazy. it really did feel like treading through a forest of ideas and themes. tangled at the roots, the connections weren’t immediately apparent, which i appreciate. i love a book that’s an exercise. really lovely translation
