This was the perfect book for quarantine since it was uplifting about her life, conservation, and hope for humanity. I was surprised to learn she had no formal training before she started observing chimps back in the day. I was even more surprised that she is deeply spiritual and doesn’t believe that science and religion are mutually exclusive. She’s passionate and compassionate, and truly an inspiration.

I think it might well become my favorite book. Jane Goodall writes with such a beautiful flow, everything makes sense and every page is more inspiring than the one you just read. She talks about the most complicated challenge of our era in such a simple and clearly way, with so much love and honesty that one can’t be *not* touched right in the heart. Thank you for writing this book, Jane.

I feel so much has changed in the 23 years since this book came out, but I still found the message inspiring.

I own this book but ended up listening to it on Libby since Jane narrates it herself. I loved hearing about her journeys and lifetime. Her mission for the chimpanzees is so inspiring and genuine. Love her to bits and pieces ❤️

I don't clearly remember all the material in this book but I remember the impression it left on me, which is why I'm sharing it.
Reason for Hope was a meditative exercise for me-sometimes soothing, sometimes unsettling. It left me thinking how precious all life on Earth is and how few people get to understand it.
