This is one of those books that has an interesting way of meeting and a quick to the punch romance that is very fast but very enjoyable! This novella keeps you on your toes every which turn and I loved every moment of it. Total alpha Gabe is tough as nails but when it comes to his daughter all bets are off. I love that Chloe is sweet but doesn't back down regardless of the situation. These two coming together is scorching and high passion! I am really looking forward to more in this series!

There were parts of this book that gripped me and pulled me in and there were parts that threw me off and had me rolling my eyes.

There were some writing inconsistencies, some very vague plot explanations, and a lack of understanding, I think, about how a situation like this would actually play out.

What I did appreciate is that someone injured showed actual physical weakness, which is refreshing as so many authors will write the hero pushing completely unrealistically through grievous injuries like their sheer will can overcome blood loss and explosions.  Of course that was offset by the same man being unrealistically released from the hospital the day after all these injuries were supposedly sustained.
