I liked this much more than Into the Blue (which I also liked) - started reading it in the morning, stayed up too late to finish it!

Theoretically, I love this type of the old-school crime stories. And it started well...Unfortunatelly, the further, the worse, the book just dragged for me and I had the feeling that if it had been shorter, it would have been so much better. I was not enjoying the development of the story.

My Robert Goddard obsession is still going strong - his ability to think up twisty yet satisfying plots with well-drawn characters and well-paced narratives, time after time, is remarkable.
