This was just underwhelming. I can appreciate the atmosphere that Hilderbrand creates and I don’t mind the way that she writes, but this story was predictable, stereotypical, and weak in many ways. It felt like there were too many narratives being told and that not enough time was spent actually developing characters, relationships, and victims. Not my favorite read.
