Read as part of book club. Disappointed that this was more family drama than murder mystery; especially given the anticlimactic ending.

A perfect Nantucket wedding weekend is ruined by a murdered MOH who turns up dead the morning of the wedding. Full of rich people behaving badly, picturesque Nantucket settings, delicious sounding food, and booze, secrets, and lies a-plenty, like the best of Hildebrand's work.

The mystery itself was well-plotted, and kept me guessing to the end, but I honestly didn’t like any of the characters. I felt like every single one of them was toxic, even the people who were supposed to be the protagonists we were rooting for (the people doing the investigating were fine). And the end scene was downright depressing and ultimately unsatisfying. For a beach read, I would want a much more satisfying ending.

Just finished "The Perfect Couple" by Elin Hilderbrand and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! I'm usually not one for contemporary fiction, but Hilderbrand's writing style had me hooked from the start.

The book is a real page-turner - a classic whodunit that will keep you guessing until the very end. Hilderbrand has a way of doling out little tidbits of information throughout the story that will keep you on your toes and constantly reevaluating your theories.

And let me tell you, I was wrong more times than I was right! The ending was definitely unexpected and a little sad, but it felt true to the story and left me thinking about it long after I finished the book.

Overall, I would highly recommend "The Perfect Couple" - it's a great example of a well-done mystery with plenty of twists and turns to keep you engaged.

Why did the cops decide so quickly? They didn't even speak to the house keeper and she was the key! What happened to Karen? Did Shooter and Celeste end up together? Merrit was pregnant and she drowned because of a stupid mistake! Absolurely devastating.
I loved reading this until the big reveal... it was extremely anti-climactic after all the build up. I'm so disappointed. This story is not a mystery, it's a tragedy.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a mystery, and this was a great way to get back into it. Extremely quick read - couldn’t put it down. Everytime i thought I had it figured out i was still a little bit off.

Personally, i wish I had a little bit more from some of the characters I really liked, such as the bride’s parents, the pregnant sister-in-law, and the groom.

The ending is satisfactory but still leaves you wanting a bit more.

Really liked the inclusion of the chief.

Difficult to track character development since it jumps around so much between characters and dates.
