Love the ending on this one.

Shelved as character trait more for looking at character development/change than traits.

I used this and another book in an author's purpose lesson. Students compared two different books about wolves and told me the similarities and differences. They were introduced to Venn diagrams and learned the differences between fictional and nonfictional books.

A favorite from my childhood, I was excited to share this fable-like tale with Berry!

Wolf is in the mood for chicken stew, but when he spots a chicken he decides to fatten her up before he eats her. After days of taking delicious baked goods to the chicken, he arrives at her house to eat her...but finds a surprise!

Really cute story about a hungry wolf who unwittingly becomes a benevolent figure to a family of chickens.

A wolf's plan to fatten up a chicken for a nice stew goes awry.  The story is cute and amusing, but I didn't find the art particularly exciting.

Themes: wolves, chickens, cooking

An oldie but still a goodie. ;)
The wolf had a good plan but the reconnaissance was lacking. The illustrations are good. I think the chicken is adorable.
Did this book leave you craving cake?
