at first i thought it was trivial and self indulgent in the pathetic demise of the main character due to too many unfortunate events. i stayed for the mundane moments and the beautiful little inconsequential descriptions and eventually found myself rooting for casey because though deject for most of the book she really doesn’t give up and moves forward step by step till she’s running straight toward the future she hoped for herself

SO GOOD. I keep opening it again to re-read passages. There were so many moments late at night when I had to get out of bed to write down her observations. If you have ever been a creative person, or worked in a restaurant, or lived in Boston, King gets you. I felt like I was reliving my twenties. And especially if you have lost a parent, and feel lost yourself, this book really gets you. It's tender. It's also very real. I loved it.

Every now and then you read a novel that brings to life a world you've lived in or a time you know, maybe both. Writers & Lovers did that for me and I loved it.

I CAME BACK TO RATE THIS 5 STARS BECAUSE THE BOOK STAYED WITH ME MONTHS LATER. I really liked this book, I found it easy to read and easy to connect. The ending was a little too quick and there were many references to other books and other characters that went over my head but overall I liked what I read and I’m glad Casey came out on top.

I really enjoyed this one. It wasn't the most exciting novel ever, but it was still very very good and kept me hooked. It felt like I was reading about a real aspiring novelist's life. I love the writing and I related to Casey in so many ways.

Wow, I loved this book! I enjoyed the characters, the setting, and the description of mourning and loss. I haven’t quite got my head around how much I enjoyed it, but I didn’t want the book to end.
