This one started a bit slow for me but I did blow through the second half. I enjoyed the story and the characters. But with the slow start it didn't quite reach the great read level.

I like every book this Wonderful author writes. This was no exception, even though it started out a little slow for me. I always have to remember that, while it might start a little bit slow, it is always worth it. This was a beautiful love story.

As usual, Brittainy brings you an incredible, emotional story.
Some of my favorite kind of characters are the sensitive, broken types and Jax and Kennedy fit the bill.
It's a compelling story of overcoming some traumatic events to find their place with each other after reconnecting. I had some trouble following the timelines and some parts of the story felt unfinished to me but overall I enjoyed this new world. There were plenty of side characters to go along with this that I hope to see more of in the upcoming stories.
I listened to this on audio and I thought Kennedy's narrator was good, but Jax's voice didn't really fit the character so much.

This story had so much potential, but fell ridiculously short.
The writing is extremely elementary. A lot of the dialogue felt curt and events happened so abruptly. The interactions between characters seemed very surface level and lacked depth. I skipped quite a bit towards the end because I just wanted the story to be over.
Jax and Kennedy each had a lot of trauma, and honestly should not have progressed in their relationship as fast as they did. They are co-dependent and should probably fix themselves first.
Also, the reveal from Derek would have been mind blowing had it not been brushed over so quickly. Again, the writing in this entire book lacked depth. I think had the author taken time to actually delve deeper into conversations and actions, this book would have been much better.

Brittainy has a very special way to delivered a book with such an amazing characters, she got me crying since first chapter with the way Kennedy was treated by her husband, he’s words and actions towards her are despicable and so horrible, so when Kennedy is force to reach for her sister, who’s only had kindness and received her with so much love and caring I was so happy for her.
*That was the problem with Penn—he saw my sadness and proved that side of me wasn’t worth loving. So, I was working harder and harder to not let that side of me slip out anymore. I didn’t want to push any more people away with my grief. I wanted people to stay.
Fake it till you make it, Kennedy.*
Jax is the black sheep of the town who doesn’t care what people think about him, but thinks not always are what they look like and Jax is the proof of that, he is kind and caring with those who deserves his attention and when he discovers that Kennedy is her Sun from summer camp his first instincts is to push her away but Kennedy is not going to let that happen, at this part we start to see a little bit of the little girl who was full of live and determination. She give him space but was there when he needed to talk and with the pass of the days they’re recovered that complicity and love that both deserved.
*Jax’s body was wrapped around mine as he pulled me in close to him and held on as if he had plans on staying there for the rest of his life. His big, strong arms pooled around my whole frame, and I melted. I melted against his body and his soul. I melted into the history of our yesterdays.
He smelled like cedar and my favorite memories.*
If I was crying while reading Kennedy and Jax and all what they been through and lost, I do cry too but happy tears with Connor’s personality, he is a sweet boy who adds such an awesome laughs to this story, I love him not just for the laughs but because he is a real incondicional friend to Jax.
*”Listen, if you two are bumping uglies, then that’s something I can get behind. I’m all about my bro getting laid, and if you need me to plant a few seeds as your wingman, I’m all in. Are you doing her yard to get into her garden? Are you trying to lay down some cucumbers next to her peach tree? Is there an oversized eggplant—”
“Connor!” I shouted. “Shut up.”*
I love how Kennedy and Jax look for each other regardless they’re own pain and broken heart.
Brittainy show us again through her characters that no matter how much we suffer in life there’s always brightens and great people who would stand and hold us to be the best we can be. Happiness is what we all deserves and I don’t care if is just in a book I want my hero’s get their HEA.
Another beautiful book by an amazing author.
*”You make me want to get better,” I whispered as his strong arms held me close. He planted a kiss on my forehead. “You’re making me better,” he replied.*
Thank you so much for my ARC to Brittainy Cherry and SocialButterflyPR

Small town, second chance romance
FMC: Kennedy (28yo) MMC: Jax (28yo)
2 broken people dealing with trauma and guilt that comes with it
i absolutely love their story so much. the way they were there for each other; kennedy being there so jax doesn’t have to go through his dark times alone; and jax being there for kennedy and letting her know there’s nothing wrong with her trauma responses,
also i’m in love with connor and i’m excited to read his book!

"If you need to run away, run away to me..."
Gahhhh!! This first book in the Compass Series by Ms. Cherry absolutely moved me.
This is the story of Kennedy and Jaxson, Sun and Moon and their story of heartbreak and kismet. This is a story of owning someone else's blame and survivors' guilt.
Kennedy was the sun, she owned her kind of weird and she would shine brightly. That's what drew Jax to her when they were kids. Time and space separate them, vengeful miscommunication keep them apart. Over the years, Kennedy's light begins to dim, horrible accidents and horrible marriage almost snuff out the brightness.
Jaxson, oh Jaxson. He is the Moon, he is the still waters run deep. He has built such a wall around himself over the years after the tragedy in his past. He becomes the dark side of the moon, ever bleak.
You are going to get all the feelings in this book! I laughed like crazy with the interactions between Jax and Connor, I cried when I read the backstories of both Kennedy and Jax. I held hope and swooned over the chemistry between Jax and Kennedy and who they both navigated their grief.
This first story in this series is phenomenal and I cannot wait to see where the next stories in this series take me.

Raw. Emotional. Heartbreaking. Breathtaking. And I will NEVER look at Frozen the same way!! This story is so much more than a friends to lovers romance. It is a tale of finding your path again after so much heartbreak. For both Kennedy and Jax, for having something so horrific happen to them, your heart just wants to shatter. But for the two of them to find their way to each other was absolutely stunning. I was blown away at not just the concept but how this story flowed watching these two grow. When secrets and twists come out, it makes you want to love these two so much more.
As a whole, I adored this book. I loved every moment of it. I was giggling, almost crying and raging when these characters were. The depth of this story is beyond beautiful and is very much a must read book!

Kennedy and Jax own my heart and soul.
I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s a story of two people dealing with such tragedy you just want to hug them both and never let go. The Sun and the Moon. “If you need to run away, run away to me.”
This book touches every part of your soul. You’ll smile. You’ll cry. You’ll wonder can childhood friends who’ve drifted apart find each other again as adults and heal each other’s hearts and souls? Small town 2nd chance romance and so much more. Fabulous emotional read you can’t put down.
