I now understand why people say Tokyo Ghoul is good because each volume continues to get better and more interesting. I'm kind of sad knowing that manga readers say the anime doesn't do the manga any justice because if Tokyo Ghoul's anime was done justice it would be so good too.

mixed feelings on this one.
fun, violent, emotional, but there were still some bland parts.

As with previous volumes, this would probably rate a 3.5 from me, but the gag comics in the back are so great at poking fun at the main story's hyper-seriousness and violence (often sadistic in nature) that the laughter always earns that fourth star.

another thrilling volume. this one is packed with very interesting developments aka (1) the end of the gourmet; (2) Rize's death; and (3) the new investigator. exciting as always.

i'll jump into vol6 first thing tomorrow!
