Back in my "I Survived" era!

I learned a whole lot about Jewish partisans in WWII.

It was a well written book. It needs to be said that many Jews became settlers in Palestine. Watch what is going on with Gaza now. Don’t allow history to repeat itself! Free Palestine!!

As someone who calls themselves a Holocaust nerd, it is my favorite part of history to study, I found this book really awesome mostly for a kids book. I have read books and watched a lot of documentaries on the Holocaust. Though I learned something new from this book which was awesome. I find it a really good book to get kids interested in the history of the Holocaust it ends on a happy note which is good for kids but it gives them a view of the damage and sadness that the Holocaust left behind and caused also.

As a morbid person I would prefer my young adult and adult Holocaust books though.

I want to talk about the thing that I had not known about until reading this book, Partisans.
They were basically 'soldiers' that would destroy Nazi trains, warehouses, anything they could to stall or mess up the Nazi's plans. I had not heard about them until this book and a thing I thought was cool was the author did a Q&A, facts, and more information at the end of the book and in the more information section she gives us a website to learn more about the partisans.

I will definitely be passing this book onto my kids if I have them when they are able to read this book because I think its a great historical fiction kids book.

This is as light of an introduction to the holocaust as you can probably get. At the end of the book there's loads of historical facts and information for young readers to learn more and the fictional story woven from the facts makes this perfect reading for young folks
