I'm putting this as a placeholder for the volume 2 of the manga.

The story is full of a little in-depth-for-casual-reading explanations of finance, economy, and history. I admit that I skip most of these explanations as I have no patience with them right now. BUT I will go back (probably after volume 3) to read and actually absorb the little lessons because it's all so fascinating. I might not have much interest in the world of mergers, loans, buyouts, stocks, other than knowing how to invest and manage them, but it's still a view on this capitalist world (despite how I dislike it at times).

Now, I am intrigued what this being part Romanov will play in Runa's story and plans.

I enjoyed this more than the previous volume, although it remains a strange read. It covers a period that is peaceful but edging into turmoil, ending in 2001 with hints at the upcoming wars and terror attacks, along with a government less friendly to Runa's strategies.

This means that this volume has a lot more fluff, a lot of Runa doing random things, but always with an eye towards the future. We see difficulties polling up for her in the present and future.

But there's also just some weird stuff. Is Runa racist against black people? What's with this fortified city thing? What's with her nonchalance about the environment? Questionable stuff pops up now and then and I'm not sure any of it really adds anything to the story. Just makes Runa weird.
